I'm reading Blindspot:The Hidden Biases of Good People by Mahzarin R. Banaji and Anthony G. Greenwald.  What are your hidden racial biases?  Take the test at Harvard's Project Implicit.   Unless, of course, you know you won't like the results...

Not to get all political, but I do have a background in Gender Studies and sometimes I can't help but share bits of ridiculousness.  I bite my tongue when it comes to Cosmopolitan magazine, Seventeen magazine (ok, maybe I don't always bite my tongue when it comes to that one), and most mainstream media.  But it really perturbs me to find a photo like this in a conservative newspaper in a conservative but somewhat enlightened city like Saskatoon.

It just goes to show, we may not need quotas on public boards because if you're a woman and you're smart enough (read: smart enough to know you've got to be both smart AND sexy) then you'll be elected anyways.
